The Town Club held its first meeting of the year on Tuesday, Sept 3, at 6 p.m. with 25 members present. The new year program books were available for each member to pick up. As the members began picking one up and going to their seats, they realized their pictures were on the program books for a fun activity of swapping books to find their own program book. As they settled with their program book, the meal was ready to be served.
After a delicious meal, President Toni Cook had a short business meeting going over the new book, which was filled with interesting programs for the year.
Brenda Pounds and Mimi DeOrnellias presented the program, “Maudi B Frickett,” which detailed the history of Town Club after forming in 1946. This was written in the format like the “White Rabbit,” which was a very exciting article in the 50s that was published each week in The Columbian-Progress. The members really enjoyed this with much laughter and discussion.
