A group of talented high school students from Marion County Carl Loftin Career and Technology Center is making waves in education after their impressive performance at the State Competition, earning them the chance to compete at the national level. The educator preparation students showcased their skills in categories such as Inside Our Schools, Interactive Bulletin Board, and Teacher-Created Materials, securing their spot among the top in the state. Their success is the result of months of dedication, mentorship, and hands-on teaching experiences.
“Our students have demonstrated exceptional commitment to the field of education,” said Cindy Sartin, the program’s instructor. “Advancing to nationals is a testament to their passion for teaching and their ability to apply classroom knowledge in a competitive setting.”
As they gear up for the national competition, the students are perfecting their presentations, refining their teaching strategies, and receiving invaluable guidance from educators and mentors. Competing on this stage will not only expose them to industry leaders but also serve as a launchpad for their future careers in education.
“We’re thrilled for this opportunity and excited to represent our school on the national stage,” said Marlie Sanders, one of the competitors. “This experience has deepened my love for teaching and helped me grow as a future educator.”
The national competition, taking place in Orlando, Florida, from June 26 to 29, will bring together top students from across the country, all eager to make a positive impact on education. Regardless of the outcome, these students have already achieved something extraordinary—taking a major step toward shaping the future of their
