Hannah Watts, a public policy leadership and secondary English education major from Columbia, is one of 10 seniors inducted into the University of Mississippi's 2024-25 Student Hall of Fame.
A committee selected inductees in accordance with a policy developed by the Associated Student Body. Selections are based on outstanding contributions in all aspects of campus life. Inductees were recognized during an April 4 ceremony at the Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts.
"I'm incredibly proud of this year's Hall of Fame inductees," said Brent Marsh, assistant vice chancellor for student affairs and dean of students. "They have accomplished much during their undergraduate years, and I fully anticipate many future success stories. These students join a long line of distinguished Hall of Fame honorees."
Watts has served as president of the Associated Student Body. She has been a member of the Columns Society, Mortar Board, Ole Miss Ambassadors, Mississippi Excellence in Teaching Program, Phi Kappa Phi, Phi Beta Kappa and the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College.
She received the Columns Society Leslie Banahan Showalter Award for advocacy and community service and was nominated as Kappa Delta's Emerging Leader. She served as a student worker for the Mississippi Law Research Institute, an intern for the Oxford Chamber of Commerce and literacy fellow for the Delta Health Alliance.
Watts' honors thesis research focused on education funding for Teach Plus. When reflecting on her time at Ole Miss, she said she wants to be remembered for her advocacy through kindness, advocating for a brighter tomorrow for all stakeholders of the University of Mississippi.
