Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Gray of Mendenhall joyfully announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Macie Layne Gray, to Slade Bennett Wilks, son of Mr. and Mrs. Porter Wilks of Columbia.
Macie is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dewayne Russum, the late Melissa Russum of Burns, Mrs. Wilma Guess, and the late Mr. Earl Guess of Georgetown. She graduated from Simpson Academy in 2020 and Pearl River Community College in 2022. Currently, she is pursuing a degree in elementary education at The University of Southern Mississippi.
Slade is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Austin Wilks, Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Robertson, and the late Mr. Aaron Bennett, all of Columbia. He graduated from Columbia Academy in 2020 and recently earned a degree in business administration from The University of Southern Mississippi in 2024.
The couple will exchange vows on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Mendenhall.
Following the ceremony, a reception will be held at Cross Pointe Venue and Chapel, where guests will enjoy a delightful evening of dinner and dancing in celebration of the newlyweds.
Macie and Slade are grateful for the love and support of their families and friends throughout their relationship and wedding planning.
They plan to make their home in Mendenhall following their marriage.
