Courtney Logan King and Benjamin Alan Baughman Jr. were joined in marriage at half past four on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2019. The outdoor ceremony, officiated by Mr. Rueben McDowell, took place water front at the Dogwood Venue in Sumrall.
The bride is the daughter of Billy and Amey King of Columbia. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. Willie King and the late Mrs. Mary Faye Stockman of Columbia and the late Mr. and Mrs. Quitman Pickett of Hattiesburg.
The groom is the son of Stephanie Herzig of Columbia and Alan and Natasha Baughman of Columbia. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bradshaw of Lumberton, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Baughman of Columbia and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Breakfield of Columbia.
The bride, whom was given away by her father, wore an elegant ivory, off-shoulder a-line taffeta gown with pleated skirt and hidden pockets. The gown featured a Duchesse lace top and illusion back paired with a cathedral veil with hand stitched matching Duchesse lace trim. She carried a silk hand tied bouquet of magnolias, ivory peonies, dogwood, silver dollar eucalyptus, and lambs ear that was completed with a handkerchief that had been carried down the aisle by the groom's family for the past four generations. The groom donned a charcoal suit with a wine neck tie and matching magnolia boutonniere.
Attending the bride arrayed in deep wines hues, were Ashley Bradshaw, matron of honor; Clara McCance, maid of honor; Jordan Pope, Morgan Chance, Lauren Lee, Kamryn Mixon and Maggie Mixon, bridesmaids; and flower girls Amy Bradshaw and Louisa Herzig. The groom was accompanied by Zack Jones, best man; Michael Bradshaw, Patrick Morris, Tyler Stringer, Jordan Barber and Collin Haney, groomsmen; and ring bearers Jack Bradshaw and Blaine Baughman.
Ushers Landon King, Jason Mixon, Ethan King, Samuel Grayson and Chase Grayson escorted guests and family to their seats lake front, where ceremony took place in front of a beautiful floating fountain and handcrafted arbor custom decorated by Stephanie Herzig and Bettye Roth, great-aunt of the groom. Mrs. Bettye Roth also coordinated and directed the event. Cakes were made by Martha Baughman, the groom's grandmother, and a spread of Southern comfort foods were prepared by the bride's family. On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s family hosted the rehearsal dinner at the Magnolia Grille banquet room.
The newlywed couple has set roots in their hometown of Columbia with their beloved son, Blaine, and family dog.
