Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Byrd of Summit announce the engagement of their daughter, Kayla Elizabeth Byrd, to David Channing Stringer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Stringer of Sandy Hook.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Byrd of Smithdale and Mr. Frank Foster and the late Gladys Foster of Chatawa. She is a 2011 graduate of Lawrence County High School, a 2015 graduate of William Carey University with a bachelor’s degree in biology and completed her Bachelor of Nursing degree on Aug. 12, 2017. Following graduation, she will begin working at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in the ICU.
The groom-to-be is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ervin of Sandy Hook and the late Mr. and Mrs. Dick Stringer of Sandy Hook. He a 2010 graduate of Columbia Academy and a 2014 graduate of William Carey University with a bachelor’s degree in General Studies. He is employed by Fabricated Pipe Inc. in Fernwood.
The couple will exchange vows at 5:30 p.m. on Sept.9, 2017, at The Hideaway in Brookhaven. A reception will follow the ceremony.
