Courtney Smith, daughter of Kevin and Candice Shows of Kokomo and Kevin and Jan Smith of New Hope, and Josh Powell, son of Scott and Theresa Powell of Goss, were married on October 19, 2018.
The ceremony, held at sunset, had a breathtaking view of a valley painted with every fall color imaginable. Vows were exchanged at The Barn at Chestnut Springs in Sevierville, Tennessee, with Rev. Glenn Nace officiating at the ceremony.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by Karlee Kessler as maid of honor alongside bridesmaids Sierra Beal, Haley Brumfield, and Kassidy Kessler.
The father of the groom served as best man with Daniel Branch, Curtis Melcher, and Cody Nace beside him as groomsmen.
The bride is a 2015 graduate of Columbia Academy and completed an associate’s degree in 2017 through Pearl River Community College. Courtney is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in education at the University of Southern Mississippi and works with the aftercare program at Columbia Academy.
Mr. Powell, also a 2015 graduate of Columbia Academy, graduated from the Instrumentation Program at Pearl River Community College in 2017, and is employed by PCI Electric in Ruston, Louisiana.
After a few relaxing days in the Smokey Mountains, the couple will reside in Foxworth, Mississippi.
