A Columbia woman is behind bars after allegedly stabbing a senior citizen as he opened his door Friday afternoon on Sistrunk Road. The man sustained non life-threatening injuries and is in good condition.
The woman, Angelina Johnson, 35, of Columbia, has been described as a nuisance in the neighborhood, according to the Marion County Sheriff's Office. Johnson, who has been trespassed from other homes in the area after letting herself in, went to the man's house twice earlier in the day and attacked him with a weapon the moment he opened the door on her third trip to the residence.
The victim refused medical assistance for his injuries.
Johnson has been charged with aggravated assault: use of a deadly weapon and is being held at the Marion County Regional Correctional Facility on a $50,000 bond.
The weapon was unable to be recovered by the sheriff's office, but it was described as having a point and could have been a pipe or garden tool. Johnson told investigators where they could look for the item, but it could not be located. Sheriff's Office Investigator Brad Anderson said Johnson was cooperative during the investigation.
The incident remains under investigation, and Johnson could face additional charges.
