Candidates have been certified for Marion County School Board Districts 1 and 2 elections to be held on Nov. 8 in what may turn out to be contentious races.
Current board member Wali T. Bilal and Joe Bracey have qualified for District 1, and Jeffrey Wayne Brumfield is the only qualifier for District 2. Current District 2 board member Sherrie Williams will not run for that seat.
Marion County Circuit Clerk Janette Nolan reminds voters that the school district lines are different from the county supervisor lines, and they may visit circuitclerkmarioncountyms.gov to see a list of address ranges and the corresponding school district.
Once sample ballots are published, voters will be able to view them at the Y'all Vote MS website.
