PEARL RIVER, Miss. – The Pearl River cheer squad continues the tradition under coach Sarah Smith, with six members signing National Letters of Intent with four-year schools.
This year's group of next-level signees includes University of West Georgia signees Skye Abram (Columbia) and Alyssa Payne (Magee), Mississippi State signee Destiny Collier (Brandon), Morehead State signee Ansley McDaniel (Oxford), William Carey signee Hollie Mitchell (Carriere; Pearl River Central) and Southern Miss signee Morgan Patrick (Brandon).
"It's a privilege to look at university cheer programs and see pieces of Pearl River in them," Pearl River head coach Sarah Smith said. "This group that we are sending out is a very talented set of athletes who will no doubt represent Pearl River well. I'm proud of each of them and look forward to supporting them in their new programs."
SKYE ABRAM AND ALYSSA PAYNE
"These two have fully given themselves to Pearl River for two years, and I could never thank them enough for their dedication and what they've meant to me and this program," Smith said. "I am so proud to see them both sign with one of the best cheer programs in the country. Skye is an excellent teammate, and I am excited to watch her grow at UWG. Alyssa is a phenomenal leader and I know she will excel at West Georgia."
