Cougars win state title

The Columbia Academy Cougars are Class 3A state champions after controlling the action from start to finish against Carroll Academy in the title game at Canton Academy to win 53-37 Saturday night.

Columbia Academy (35-2) only trailed during the first minute of the game and suffocated Carroll’s offense.

Cougars advance to state semifinals

With a 29-point win in the Class 3A state quarterfinals Wednesday, the Cougars are one win away from reaching the state championship.

Columbia Academy (33-2) annihilated Lee Academy from start to finish behind strong performances by Ras Pace, Tate Duncan and Cody Fortenberry, winning 74-45.
