Homecoming Queen
Chloe Arinder
Columbia Academy is proud to announce its Homecoming Court that will preside over festivities on Friday, Oct. 6, 2023. The night will conclude with the football game against St. Aloysius Academy at James E. Pope Field. The crowning of the Queen and presentation of her court will be at halftime of the game.
Representing Columbia Academy this year as Homecoming Queen is Chloe Arinder. She is the daughter of Lisa and Mitchell Arinder of Improve.
Chloe’s escort will be Cameron Rogers, son of Judy and Gannon Rogers of the Bunker Hill community.
Henley Gibson will serve as Flower Girl to the Queen. She is the daughter of Lauren and Tyler Gibson of Columbia. Crown Bearer for the Queen will be Banks Broome. He is the son of Amber and Hunter Broome of Improve.
At CA, Chloe has been an Honor Roll student and on Mrs. Angie’s List. She has been elected Wittiest by her classmates for two years. She participated in track and basketball during her junior high years at CA. Chloe is a member of the Key Club. She enjoys serving at her church by singing in the choir and helping in Vacation Bible School. In Chloe’s free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading and listening to old music.
Football Maid
Kandace Upton
Kandace Upton has been chosen by the Cougars as this year’s Football Maid. She is the daughter of Angel and Ken Upton of Kokomo.
Kandace’s escort will be Cole Fortenberry. Cole is the son of Rebecca and Chris Fortenberry of the Cedar Grove community. Kandace chose her niece, Holland Upton, as her Flower Girl. She is the daughter of Christal and Kenan Upton of Kokomo.
Kandace is an Honor Roll student and member of Mu Alpha Theta and National Honor Society. This year Kandace is serving as Student Body President. She has received numerous awards in the classroom for being a model student. Kandace has enjoyed cheering on the Cougars as a water girl for the football team and a Diamond Girl for the baseball team. She loves volunteering in the community and serving in her church. Kandace is also a member of the Dusty Club. In her spare time, she enjoys any activity with water. She loves the beach, jet skiing, camping and fishing.
Senior Maid
Peyton Rowley
The Senior Maid is Peyton Rowley. She is the daughter of Charla and Gerald Rowley of McComb.
Her escort will be Gavin Cook. Gavin is the son of Wanda and Brad Wells of Kokomo.
At CA, Peyton is a member of numerous academic clubs, such as Mu Alpha Theta, Key Club and National Honor Society. She is an Honor Roll student. Peyton has served the Cougar football team as a water girl and has been a valuable member of the Lady Cougar basketball team. Peyton enjoys spending time with her family and friends, listening to music and playing with her dog.
Junior Maid
Madison Bond
The juniors elected Madison Bond to represent their class as Junior Maid. She is the daughter of Babs and Travis Bond of Columbia.
Madison chose Austin Baughman, son of Fran and Keith Baughman of Enon, to be her escort.
Throughout school, Madison has been on the Honor Roll and stayed involved in various school activities. She has been on the track team, cross country team and a member of the Cougar Cheer squad. Madison was elected Most Intellectual, Best All Around and Class Favorite. She is a member of the Dusty Club and JA’s Crown Club. Madison enjoys working in her church and baking. She also values time spent with her friends and family, especially helping her dad.
Sophomore Maid
Maggie Smith
Representing the Sophomore Class is Maggie Smith. She is the daughter of Lacey and Dustin Smith of New Hope.
Maggie will be escorted by Logan Buckley, the son of Carrie and Stacy Buckley of Bunker Hill.
Maggie is a member of the track, softball and basketball teams where she has received several awards. She serves as a Diamond Girl for the baseball team. Maggie has remained an Honor Roll student. She has been chosen Most Talented and Most Athletic by her peers. She is a member of the Dusty Club. Some of Maggie’s favorite activities away from CA are playing travel softball and spending time with family and friends.
Freshman Maid
Macie Wilks
This year’s Freshman Maid is Macie Wilks. She is the daughter of Lacey and Kyle Wilks of Bunker Hill.
Macie chose Trent Buckley as her escort. Trent is the son of Carrie and Stacy Buckley of Bunker Hill.
Macie has been an Honor Roll student during her eleven years at CA. She is a member of the Lady Cougar softball team and basketball team. She has earned numerous awards during her softball career and spends her time in the summer months playing travel ball with Mississippi Elite. Macie was elected Miss Junior High, Junior Beauty and Class Favorite. Outside of CA, Macie enjoys babysitting, spending time with her church youth group and enjoying her friends and family.

The first presentation of the court and the pep rally will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the G.G. Flynt Gymnasium. The annual parade will begin at 1 p.m. The parade will begin at the old New Orleans Furniture location on Mississippi 13 N. and proceed through downtown Columbia ending at Friendship Park. At 6:15 p.m., the pre-game festivities will begin on James E. Pope Field. The Columbia Academy Cougars will play host to St. Aloysius Academy. Kickoff will be at 7 p.m. Finally, the crowning of the Queen, Chloe Arinder, will take place at halftime of the game.
