Columbia Academy hosted its annual Veterans Day Program Thursday.
Veterans and families were able to enjoy a hearty breakfast of eggs, grits, sausage, milk, juice and coffee in the cafeteria, followed by a patriotic program in the Fine Arts Building.
The guest speaker for the program was decorated veteran Lt. Col. Duane “Dutch” Van Fleet of Columbia.
The CA Show Choir opened the program by singing the National Anthem, and the K-5 classes concluded it with a bell rendition of the song “God Bless America.”
Van Fleet spoke about his experiences throughout his military career, honoring God, the U.S. military, veterans who served and families of those who served.
Marion County is blessed to have the many veterans who have served our country in the armed forces living among them.
