Shadarious Warren, 22, of Tylertown, who is the armed robber who shot a Custom Trophy & Engraving employee Thursday, was denied bond by Justice Court Judge Brandon Rowell Monday morning.
Warren faces felony charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon: extreme indifference of human life, use of a stolen firearm in a crime and grand larceny: vehicle of another.
While discussing the charges with Warren, Judge Rowell said that Warren allegedly stole $40,000 from Custom Trophy while using a stolen .38 caliber handgun and drove away in a silver Ford F-150, which was also reported stolen.
When Warren was informed that that he would have no bond, he acted surprised and said that gave himself up. He attempted to raise his arms to illustrate that he gave himself up to the police, but he could only raise one hand partially up due to the handcuffs and shackles.
While gathering basic information about Warren, Judge Rowell asked Warren about his current address. Warren said that he is homeless and “on the streets.”
The initial hearing for the case will be this Thursday (Sept. 14) at 9 a.m. at Justice Court. Judge Rowell told Warren that if his bond were to be reduced at that time and he were to eventually bond out, he would have an ankle monitor and be prohibited from contacting the victim’s family in any way, even if he were attempting to apologize.
Warren attempted to rob the store around 10 a.m. Thursday, but Custom Trophy co-owner Ruby Holmes confronted him with a shotgun. While they wrestled over the shotgun, Warren allegedly pulled out a pistol and shot Holmes in the upper leg.
Holmes was transported to Hattiesburg for treatment and had to undergo surgery, but she is doing well and is in good spirits.
