The suspect who attempted to rob Custom Trophy & Engraving Thursday morning and shot an employee has been captured by the Marion County Sheriff's Office.
Although investigators are unable to release the suspect's identity yet, they have confirmed he is in custody.
The suspect attempted to rob the store around 10 a.m. Thursday, but Custom Trophy co-owner Ruby Holmes confronted him with a shotgun. While they wrestled over the shotgun, the suspect allegedly pulled out a pistol and shot Holmes in the upper leg.
Holmes was transported to Hattiesburg for treatment and had to undergo surgery. Her condition is critical, but she is in good spirits.
