A routine traffic stop turned into a not-so-routine stop for one man who was arrested for drug charges.
James Owens Anderson, 27, of Sumrall was stopped on Jan. 22 along Rocky Branch Road by Marion County Sheriff deputies. During the roadside investigation, deputies found approximately 8 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, according to Chief Deputy Jamie Singley.
Anderson was charged with controlled substance-sale/manufacturing/possession with intent-Schedule I-II drug, controlled substance paraphernalia-use, possession, possession with intent to use and DUI first offense (1)(b) under the influence of any substance that would impair.
He is currently in the Marion County Jail with a bond set AT $51,500.
