Columbia Schools Superintendent Jason Harris and the Board of Trustees of the Columbia School District recently honored Teachers of the Year, Parents of the Year and the Administrator of the Year. These honorees received these distinctive recognitions due to their outpouring of dedication, steadfast work-ethics and passion for educating the students of the Columbia School District.
Ben Ball was named the CES Parent of the Year. He stands with CSD Superintendent Jason Harris and CES Principal Jay Rayborn.
"The CSD wants to acknowledge these outstanding individuals for their extraordinary leadership, vision, and commitment to transforming our school as inside and outside of the classroom," Harris said.
Reneda Franklin was named the Columbia Primary School and Columbia School Distirict Parent of the Year. She stands with Columbia School Distirct Superintendent Jason Harris, CPS Principal Ashley Haddox and CPS Vice Principal Heather Martin.
Each school selected a Teacher and Parent of the Year, and selection committees decided the Columbia School District overall honorees. The Administrator of the Year was selected by a peer committee of all other administrators in the district.
Naomi Ramshur was named the JMS Parent of the Year. She stands with her children and CSD Superintendent Jason Harris and JMS Principal Lesley Campbell.
The honorees from each school are: From Columbia Primary School, Mary Smith was named Teacher of the Year and Renada Franklin was named Parent of the Year.

From Columbia Elementary School, Sharella Slay was named Teacher of the Year and Ben Ball was named Parent of the Year.

From Jefferson Middle School, Cindy Shields was named Teacher of the Year and Naomi Ramshur was named Parent of the Year.

From Columbia High School, Tiffany Brumfield was named Teacher of the Year and Summer Smith was named Parent of the Year.

Columbia Primary School Principal Ashley Haddox was recognized as Administrator of the Year.
CPS Principal Ashley Haddox was named Columbia School District Administrator of the Year.
CHS Teacher of the Year Tiffany Brumfield was recognized as the CSD Teacher of the Year, and CPS Parent of the Year Renada Franklin was recognized as CSD Parent of the Year.
Each of these honorees play a vital role in fostering success, vitality and growth throughout the Columbia School District.
