As summer is about to kick off, one of the events people in Marion County look forward to is the annual “Freedom Fest,” scheduled around the weekend of July 4th. Last year’s event was canceled due to the pandemic, but it has been a family-friendly event downtown for several years prior.
This year, plans are underway to change things up a bit. Instead of Experience Columbia organizing it, the project will be a partnership between Main Street Columbia and the Marion County Development Partnership.
Director of Main Street Columbia Nik Ingram said they are still finalizing details for some things at the event, which is scheduled for Saturday, July 3.
The monthly Columbia Gearheads Cruise-In will still take place on that Saturday, as well as downtown shopping.
Ingram said more information will be released as it becomes available.
