“It's just been a little dream of mine,” Rowell said of owning a Merle Norman store. “I love, love, love skincare, and I really like making people feel special and I like people walking out of here feeling better about themselves.”
Makeovers are available by appointment for all events, with a staff member providing these services on Saturdays and for special occasions.
Rowell’s vision is for The Pink Pearl to serve all generations. She recalls a tradition where mothers would bring daughters for their first skincare and makeup experiences and hopes to see that return in Columbia. She plans to collaborate with local schools and clubs to teach young people about skincare.
Customers visit The Pink Pearl for both products and advice. Some come simply to talk or spend time. Rowell’s goal is for each person to feel welcome, whether they need help with product choices, clothing sizes or event preparation. Her approach is to remain present and offer assistance as needed.

Rowell’s primary goal is to see customers leave with confidence and a smile. She believes in personal service and community connection, viewing The Pink Pearl as a place for support and care. Her aim is to help people feel better about themselves.
After years spent at home with her children and previous work in banking and fitness, Rowell now balances family life with running The Pink Pearl. She sees her role as one of helping others through her business.
The Pink Pearl wants each member of the community to look and feel beautiful in their own skin, and it has every tool in the bag, including a great staff, to make it happen.
