State testing vendor makes big mistake on scores, city and county schools both affected

The preliminary state test results that were reported to Mississippi school districts were incorrect and caused a cascade of serious and unfortunate consequences. The incorrect results affected both the Marion County School District and the Columbia School District.

Heritage Fest returns for 59th year

The Marion County Historical Society’s Heritage Festival is returning to Columbia for its 59th year on Oct. 5 and will feature an array of entertainment, vendors and food trucks.
Heritage Fest will begin at 9 a.m. and will be open to the public all day until 5 p.m.
