Inmate dies in custody at Marion County Jail, investigation underway

An inmate at the Marion County Regional Correctional Facility, Angela Jordan, died early Friday morning, and an investigation is currently ongoing into her death. Marion County Sheriff’s Office officials, as well as the jail, do not suspect foul play, but an autopsy will be performed to determine cause of death.

Law enforcement continues drug crusade

The Columbia Police Department and Marion County Sheriff's Office teamed up for a pair of arrests on Monday, including arresting a man who was arrested on multiple felony charges for the second time in as many weeks and a woman who was transporting methamphetamine.

The 24th flavor of Dr. Pepper: Man hides crack cocaine in soda can

The Marion County Sheriff's Office made a number of arrests during the Thanksgiving holiday and seized methamphetamine, crack cocaine and prescription drugs as a result. The arrests included a Louisiana man who attempted to conceal his illegal narcotics in a Dr. Pepper can.
