Howard “Bimbo” Glen Sistrunk

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2024, at Colonial Funeral Home for Howard “Bimbo” Glen Sistrunk, 73, of Columbia, who passed away on Sunday, Sept. 1, at his home after a brief battle with cancer. Burial followed in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Columbia. Rev. Yancy Magee officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 11 a.m. until the time of the services on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at Colonial Funeral Home.

He was born on May 18, 1951, in Columbia. He was a longtime resident of the Pine Burr community and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church where he attended faithfully. He retired from the oilfield and had many friends from this time. He loved visiting with friends and family, golfing and fishing. He adored his grandkids and was always ready to talk about them.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold “Bill” and Dora Sistrunk; four brothers, Jesse, Tommy, Gerald and Marty Sistrunk; and a sister, Sharon Carter.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Donna Sistrunk of Columbia; two children, Donna Dickerson (Mike) of Hammond, La., and Jeremy Sistrunk (Mary) of Columbia; two stepsons, Paul “Tony” Moree (Elisha) of Columbia and Joshua Moree (Dana) of Clinton; and four grandchildren, Emma, Jack, Harper and Norah Moree.
Pallbearers were Jeremy Sistrunk, Mike Dickerson, Ransome Dement, Matt Fornea, Tim Solomon and Grayson Whitehurst. Honorary pallbearer was Frank Johnson.
