Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel for William Earl Stogner, 86, of Columbia, who died on Wednesday, Jan. 25, in Hattiesburg. Burial followed in the Stogner Family Cemetery. Rev. Kenny Peavy officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26, at Colonial Funeral Home.
He was an entrepreneur and owned several businesses in Marion County. He had a deep faith in Christ and was a member of Edna Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his son, Larry Stogner; parents, William “Bud” Stogner and Mary Turnage Stogner; and a grandson, Larry Stogner, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Stogner of Columbia; daughters, Linda Townsend (Jimmy) and Debbie Ashley, both of Columbia; sons, David Baker (Tiffaney) of Andrews, Texas, and John Baker (Lisa) and Michael Baker (Rebecca), both of Columbia; brother, Varion Stogner of Columbia; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family members.
