Delton Raymond Young

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, 2018, at Bunker Hill Baptist Church for Delton Raymond Young, 70, of Columbia, who died on Sunday, Oct. 14 at his residence. Burial followed in Emmanuel Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Randy Gardner officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18 at Bunker Hill Baptist Church.
He was a loving family man, stern when needed and gentle in his ways. He loved his children, went above and beyond to help people in need. He saved a man's life, would put himself last to help another and had a wonderful sense of humor. He was the back bone of his family and a very good teacher for those willing to listen and learn. His legacy was strength, an unbreakable will and the love he had for his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Burley Young and Mattie Morse, and eight grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Young; daughters, Mazie Dixon, Susie Young, Ruthie Case and Mendy Lowery; sons, Jerry Case, Charles Case, Silver Case, Delton Young II, Delton Young III and Jeremiah Young; aunts, Vera Broom and Dorothy Young; cousins, Danny Delancey and Frankie Mosser; 25 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Kevin Case, P.J. Barrett, Travis Parish, Hunter Jourdan, Austin Owens, Charles Case Jr., Silver Case Jr. and Zachary Case. Honorary pallbearers were P.W. Young, Jeremiah Young, Silver Case Sr. and Jerry Case.
