Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 15, 2017, at Colonial Funeral Home for Mr. Earl Clark, 74, of Foxworth, who died on Wednesday, Sept. 13, in Columbia. Interment followed in Lott Cemetery. Dr. Tim Parker and the Rev. Hiram Campbell officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 14, at Colonial Funeral Home.
He was a welder with Georgia Pacific and retired in 2005. He was also a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Carolyn Clark; son, Ray Pounds; parents, Obie and Mildred McCain Clark, and brothers, Wilfred Clark and William Harry Clark.
Survivors include his son, Randy Clark (Beth); two sisters, Voncille Kendrick (Crawford) and Nelda Smith (Bobby); brother, David Clark (Jan), and three grandchildren, Chase Clark, Lauren Pounds and Caitlin Pounds.
Pallbearers were Randy Clark, Chase Clark, David Clark, Sherman Pounds, Kenny Thornhill and Andy Stringer. Honorary pallbearers were Wayne Stringer, Emmitt Stringer, Virgil Stringer and the Senior Adult Men’s Sunday School Class of New Hope Baptist Church.
