Funeral services with military honors were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Colonial Funeral Home for Larry A. Turnage, 73, of Foxworth, who died on Wednesday, June 19 at his residence. Burial followed in Turnage Chapel Cemetery. Daryl Warren officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the services on Saturday, June 22 at Colonial Funeral Home.
He was born on Nov. 4, 1945, in Columbia. He retired from Temple-Inland Box Plant in Bogalusa after 41 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Daisy and Nollie Baughman of Foxworth; father, James A. Thornhill of Columbia; brother, Jamie Thornhill of Florida; grandparents, Alphia and Georgia Turnage of Foxworth and Marshall and Edna Thornhill of Columbia.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Fay Douglas Turnage; daughter, Kim Slater (James) of Hattiesburg; two sons, Doug Turnage of Foxworth and Eric Turnage (Natalie) of Purvis; granddaughters, Madison Slater, Hayden and Jordan Slater, all of Hattiesburg, Audrey Turnage of Brandon and Trinity Turnage of Purvis; grandson, Clayton of Brandon; three sisters, Patty Hartford (Bill), Peggy Regan (Joe G) and Vicky Blackwell (Richard), all of Foxworth; four brothers, Terry D. Baughman (Barbara) of Pontotoc, Larry Thornhill (Pat) of Placerville, Calif., Marvin Thornhill of Central Point, Ore., and Ricky Baughman (Linda) of Foxworth.
