Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Society Hill Baptist Church for Lula "Lucy" B. Hamilton, 81, of Columbia, who died on Wednesday, April 25, in Hattiesburg. Burial followed in Society Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Casey Odom officiated at the services. Visitation were held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday, April 27, at Hathorn Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Giles Thomas and Galaverne Loftin, and sister-in-law, Peggy Loftin.
Survivors include her husband, William Shelby Hamilton of Columbia; one son, Terry Hamilton (Pamela) of Oak Vale; one daughter, Wanda Dawsey (Terry) of Foxworth; brother, B.G. Loftin (Janice) of Columbia; eight grandchildren, Amy McKenzie (Justin) of Columbia, Jolie Mullins (Steve) of Foxworth, Blace Hamilton of Oak Vale and Tyler Dawsey (Angelia), Carley Carter (Alex), Jacob Cook (Kristen), David Cook (Allison), all of Columbia and Kristy Hopkins of Magee; 19 great-grandchildren, Cole Bourne, Trevor Dawsey, Caleb Bourne, Hayden Adkins, Hayly Adkins, Presley Dawsey, Colton Dawsey, Ace Carter, Shelby Carter, Karlee, Kaleb, Samuel, Dawson, Hadley, Brooke, Da’lyn, Haygan, Wyatt and Carter.
Pallbearers were Chip Loftin, Chris Loftin, Tony Martin, David Martin, Eddie Martin, Ricky Martin, Thomas Hamilton, Austin Buckley, Jacob Cook, David Cook and Alex Carter.
