Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2019, at Hathorn Funeral Home for Mary Jerea Moody, 88, of Foxworth, who died on Tuesday, April 16 in Columbia. Interment will follow in Hurricane Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Zach Smith will officiate at the services. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the services on Saturday, April 20 at Hathorn Funeral Home.
As a lifelong resident of Marion County, she loved reading and watching Westerns. She also enjoyed fishing and sewing. In 2000, she retired from Stennis Space Center in Hancock County. She was a long-time faithful member of Hurricane Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otho and Bertie Anderson, and one brother, James Marvin Anderson.
Survivors include her husband, Clifton Thornhill of Moss Point; daughter, Martha Moody Bergeron of Foxworth; one grandson, Christopher Stafford (Bethany) of Peyton, Colo., and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Brian Ryals, Justin Hall, Jess McMurry, Clint McMurry, Will Anderson and James Wolfe. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Adcox, Clay Reid, Neil Hunt and Scott Pittman.
