Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018, at First Baptist Church of Columbia for Matthew James Rhoden, 44, of Columbia, who died on Wednesday, Dec. 19. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Dr. Bryant Barnes will officiate at the services. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of the services on Saturday, Dec. 29 at First Baptist Church of Columbia.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Thomas Arny and Amy Jean Rhoden, and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Mitchell (Jossey).
Survivors include his one son, Austin Rhoden of Boston, Mass.; one daughter, Madeleine Rhoden of Boston, Mass.; father, James C. Rhoden (Karen) of Columbia; mother, Deborah Weems (Samuel) of Madison; three brothers, Christopher Weems (Lauren), Samuel Weems II (Benita) and Patrick Weems (Anna Booth), and one sister, Courtney Rhoden.
Pallbearers will be Jeffery Rhoden, Thomas Rhoden, Chad Rhoden, William Eisworth, Chris Johnson, Randy Holloway and Allen Knight.
