Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia for Mattie Jewel Bryant, 83 of Silver Creek, who passed away on Friday, July 20, 2018 at Marion General Hospital. Interment was in Hepzibah Baptist Church Cemetery. Mernice Griner, Bro. Eddie Myers, and Bro. Jason Matheny officiated. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday, July 23, 2018 at Hathorn Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Hubert Bryant; parents, Robert and Ida Gill; daughter, Linda Blanchard; five brothers, Joe Gill, Ray Gill, Garvis Gill, Billy Gill, and Charlie Gill; two sisters, Mary Stuckey, and Evelyn Gill; and two grandchildren, Gary Allen Bryant, and P.J. Bryant.
She is survived by two sons, Dwain Bryant of Reserve, La, and Buddy Bryant (Kathy) of Valparaiso, Ind.; three daughters, Pam Daniels (Ronnie) of Silver Creek, JoAnn Parkman (Johnny) of Oak Vale, and Jeanette Anderson (Don) of Silver Creek; twelve grandchildren, Tony Bryant (Zamira), Michael Bryant, Melissa Bryant, Jessi Bryant, Tiffany Wallace (Adam), Zac Parkman (Sonya), Stephanie Hunt (Willie), Jason Daniels (Mandy), Jamie Anderson, Ashley Lee(Joe), Terry Blanchard (Brandy), and Kevin Blanchard (Nicole); twenty-one great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pallbearers were Jason Daniels, Willie Hunt, Zac Parkman, Adam Wallace, Kevin Blanchard, Chase Riley, and Jamie Anderson.
