Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel for Virgil L. Blair Jr., 74, of Columbia, who died on Wednesday, Sept. 13, at his residence. Interment was held Good Hope Cemetery. The Rev. A.D. Gammill officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 15, at Colonial Funeral Home.
A native of Prentiss, he was a retired helicopter mechanic and served in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death his wife, Vera Beatrice Blair, and son, Lance Blair.
Survivors include his two sons, Michael G. Blair of Columbia and Trey Bryant of Pinola; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Colonial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
