Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2023, at Colonial Funeral Home.
During the past weeks of her illness, loving friends and family surrounded her. Her mother, Linda Bean Price, and her brother, Danny Ray Price, were with her at their childhood home when Amy went to be with the Lord.
She was born in Columbia on May 18, 1966. Her proud parents were Linda Bean Price and Earl Ray Price Jr. Her grandmother, Edna Mae Bean, assisted with her birth at Marion General Hospital. Her grandparents were great influences in her life and all of them precede her in death: Earl Ray Price Sr., Kathleen Bozeman Price, Lawrence Chandler Bean and Edna Mae Martin Bean.
She graduated from West Marion High School as the valedictorian of the Class of 1984. She went on to attend Hinds Community College. She was unique in many ways "one of a kind" and no one ever doubted the love that she felt for her family and friends. She was a lover of all sports, astrology and reading. She enjoyed the Easter holiday most. She shared this with her family by always dying an egg with each person's name on it. Everyone looked forward to this.
Lastly, she was passionate and dedicated to her job at Southern Tire Mart where she had worked since 2009. She loved her work family, and if ever you met Amy, she left an impression on you.
Survivors include her mother, Linda Bean Price; father, Earl Ray Price Jr. (Karen); brother, Danny Ray Price (Janet); nephews, Alex Price (Peyton) and Drew Price; great-nephew, Will Price; and a lifelong friend, Yvonne Morgan, they have been together through it all. It was said by Yvonne that “Amy never had a negative word to say about anyone and that says it all!”
Pallbearers were Alex Price, Drew Price, Stacy Reagan, Logan Barber, John Bean and Parker Mattox.
