Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 24, 2024, in Woodlawn Cemetery for Earnestine Alderman, 84, of Columbia, who passed away on Thursday, June 20. Bro. Dewitt Bain officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 1 p.m. until the time of the services on Monday, June 24, at Hathorn Funeral Home.
She was born in Marion County and spent most of her life here and in the Mt. Gilead community. She had a long career in healthcare, serving as an LPN, respiratory therapist and ending her career with the Women’s Clinic of Hattiesburg’s Columbia office. She was also a proud breast cancer survivor of 46 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Alderman; parents, Clifton and Lois Moree Williams; and brother, Rhua Dale Williams.
Survivors include her son, Keith Alderman (Lee Anne) of Southaven; two grandchildren, Andrew Alderman (Susan) of Nesbit and Kallen Alderman of Oxford; and two great-grandchildren, Zoe Rose Alderman and Maor Fordie Alderman, both of Nesbit.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of Desoto Healthcare and Gentiva Hospice.
