James Edward “Ed” Rayborn
79, Foxworth
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023, at Colonial Funeral Home for James Edward “Ed” Rayborn, 79, of Foxworth, who died on Wednesday, Oct. 11, in Hattiesburg. Burial followed in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Steve Binion officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. until the time of the services on Saturday, Oct. 14, at Colonial Funeral Home.
He was born in Tylertown and was a veteran of the U.S. Army proudly serving during the Korean Conflict. He worked in the oilfield and retired after 38 years of employment. Later, he drove a truck for a short while but would eventually enjoy his family and retirement years from home.
He was preceded in death by his son, James Michael Rayborn; father, James Roland Rayborn; mother, Johnnie Lou Sawyer Brumfield; sister, Diane Kay Bailey; brother, Jerry Rayborn; and stepmother, Mary Blanche Rayborn.
His memory will be forever cherished by his daughters, Wanda Johnson of Spanish Fort, Ala., Tonia Rushing (Wayne) of Baxterville and Lisa Hibley (Johnny) of Columbia; step-daughters, Keri Windam and Keli Ellzey, both of Foxworth; sister, Mary Brumfield of Yuma, Ariz.; brother, Ken Rayborn (Ginger) of Purvis; step-siblings, Ralph Brumfield (Judy) of Foxworth, Terry LaBue (Marti) of Denham Springs, La., Sal LaBue (Kathy) of Hattiesburg, Kenny LaBue (Debbie) of Foxworth, Ruby Lucroy of Morton, Theressa Woods (Billy) of Rose Hill, Va., Brenda Stedman of Morton and Barbara O’Fallon of Columbia; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Zachary Johnson, James Allen Reagan, William Lewis, J.J. Rayborn, Rudy Rayborn, Matt Weatherford, Ryan Rudewick and Chris Rayborn. Honorary pallbearers were Dewayne Hamilton and Johnny Ginn.
