James Harold Breakfield, 76, a native of Columbia, and a resident of Lockport, La., passed away on May 2, 2024. No services were held per his wishes.
He loved and raised his entire family from his lifetime of labor in the oil field and carpentry work. He was most proud of being chosen to coordinate and oversee the construction of the First Baptist Church in Lockport, La., where he was an ordained deacon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Gussie Breakfield; and brothers, Jerry Breakfield andKermis Breakfield.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Hedy Day Breakfield; children, James Jr. (Janet), Valerie and Mark Spencer (Traci); grandchildren, Taner (Katie), Sara (Colby) and Thomas; great-grandchildren, Gunnar, Kennedy and the eagerly anticipated, Lincoln James; sisters, Mattie Hicks (Nelson) and Linda Breakfield; and brother, Talmadge Breakfield.
Samart-Mothe Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
