Jamie Wayne Hudson
45, Columbia
A celebration of life will be held at a later date for Jamie Wayne Hudson, 45, of Columbia, who died peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2024, in Hattiesburg surrounded by family.
He was a 1997 graduate of Columbia High School and later attended Pearl River Community College where he received his degree in electrical technology. At the age of 22, in April 2002, he was involved in a 4-wheeler accident paralyzing him from the neck down. With fortitude and strong determination, he decided to return to college and pursue a degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. He graduated in 2008 with his bachelor of science degree in psychology.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Isaac and Tammer Hudson and Claudia Tullos; and brother, Cory Hudson.
Survivors include his parents, Jimmy and Bonnie Hudson; brother, Phillip Grayson (April); sister, Tiffany Campbell (Matthew); niece and nephews, Alex Grayson, Samuel Grayson, Chase Grayson, Hagen Campbell, Hudson Campbell and Holden Campbell; Uncle Jon and Aunt Theresa; and a host of family members.
The family would like to thank the many wonderful attendants Jamie has had over the years, and a very special thank you to his first attendant, Ms. Warnetta Moss. During his most difficult time, immediately following his accident, she never let depression overcome him. Through her conviction, she pushed, pleaded, preached and never let him, nor his parents, forget that God is always with us.
His presence and smile will forever be missed.
