John “The Bull” Scott Robertson
86, Oxford
A celebration of his life was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 31, 2025, at First United Methodist Church of Columbia for John “The Bull” Scott Robertson, 86, of Oxford, who passed away peacefully on March 22, in Oxford. Visitation with the family was held from 1 p.m. until the time of the services on Monday, March 31, at First United Methodist Church of Columbia.

Affectionately known as “The Bull” for his strong spirit and steadfast nature, he was a proud graduate of Columbia High School, Class of 1956. Following his graduation, he answered the call to serve his country and spent three honorable years in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. Upon returning home, he pursued his education with the same dedication, earning his bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi.
He was preceded in death by his parents, P.O. and Ada Robertson; first wife and mother of his children, Judy Singley Robertson; second wife, Frances Simmons Robertson; brothers, Harold, Howard and Frank Robertson; and son-in-law, Chip Loftin.
His legacy lives on in the hearts of his daughters, Cathy Loftin of Mandeville, La., and Carolyn Cooper (Ken) of Marietta, Ga.; son, Jeffrey Robertson (Tracey) of Nuremberg, Germany; beloved grandchildren, Carley Robertson of Summerville, S.C., Samuel Cooper of Marietta, Ga., Cooper Robertson of Columbus, William Cooper of Atlanta, Ga., John Loftin and Nicholas Loftin, both of Mandeville, La., and Collin Robertson of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends whose lives he touched over the years.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Scott’s memory to the First United Methodist Church of Columbia or to the University of Southern Mississippi Foundation.
