Ronald Delton “Ronnie” Thornhill

Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 23, 2024, in Woodlawn Cemetery for Ronald Delton “Ronnie” Thornhill, 70, of Columbia, who departed this life on Feb. 20, after a long battle with cancer. Visitation was held from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the services on Friday, Feb. 23, at Colonial Funeral Home.
He lived his entire life in Columbia and was a member of Woodlawn Pentecostal Church. He retired from a 25-year career with Columbia Walmart. He enjoyed painting, drawing, hunting, golf, visiting his former co-workers at Walmart and taking care of homeless animals. He will be dearly missed by his family and a multitude of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Delton William “Billy” Thornhill and Ruby Lee Thornhill, both of Columbia; and his brother, Perry Dean Thornhill of Atlanta, Ga.
He is survived by his sister, Kimberley Thornhill Caston (Paul) of Columbia; two nephews, Evan Caston and Zachary Caston, both of Oxford; and many cousins, grandnephews and nieces.
Pallbearers were Paul Caston, Evan Caston, Zach Caston, Preston Vaughn, Paul White and Steve Crosby.
