Ronald Jay Buckley, 76, of Columbia, passed from this life into the presence of God, on Wed. Jan. 31, 2024, in Columbia.
He was born on Sept. 22, 1947, in Columbia. Prior to spending more than 40 years in management with Georgia Pacific in Goss, he was a member of the Mississippi National Guard 890th Engineer Battalion. He then retired to fish, hunt and spend time with his precious grandsons. He was a member of Goss Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Al Buckley; mother, Dot Buckley and Clytie Bourn Buckley; brothers, Thomas Wells and Ben Ray Buckley; and brothers-in-law; Stanley Johnson and Danny Barnes.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Carolyn Barnes Buckley; daughter, Angi Earls (Mike) of Goss; sister, Pegi Johnson of Bay St. Louis; grandchildren, Malori Ard, Madi Ratliff (Landon), Parker Earls, Ryder Earls and Jagger Earls; great-grandchildren, Blaire and Landry Ratliff of Columbia; and a number of nieces and nephews.
