He was a carpenter by trade and worked for various companies, including McKenzie Construction, which he owned and operated. He excelled in his ability to build perfection and was noted in a feature story in Southern Living Magazine. He was a man of strong faith. He was a minister with the Church of God, Cleveland, Tenn., with longstanding membership at Mt. Carmel Church of God. He loved people and people loved him. He enjoyed the outdoors, deer hunting and especially fishing. He loved traveling to many places including his favorite, the Great Smoky Mountains, though his favorite pastime was spending time with family and enjoying his grandchildren. Through all life dealt him, he would always say, “I’m a winner either way.” He will be greatly missed.
