The funeral services were at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2024, at Kokomo Chapel Methodist Church for Susan Elizabeth Bell Copeland, of Oak Grove, who passed from this life into God’s presence on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2024. Burial followed in Kokomo Community Cemetery. Dr. Ronnie Morgan officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. until the time of the services on Wednesday, Feb. 7, at Kokomo Chapel Methodist Church.
She was born in Omaha, Neb., to Stuart Earl Bell Sr. and Connie Tomlin Bell. She has lived in Oak Grove since 1990. She was a graduate of West Marion High School and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a bachelor of science in medical laboratory technology. She pursued alternative certifications in education and taught chemistry in public school for the past 20 years. She enjoyed spending her time gardening and loved taking care of all stray animals that came her way. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family and to her students.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Connie Tomlin Bell; and a brother, Stanley Bell.
Survivors include her daughter, Suzanne Michelle Copeland; son, Sean Copeland (Taylor); father, Stuart Earl Bell Sr.; and two brothers, Stuart Earl Bell Jr. (Sandra) and Scott Bell.
