Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2023, at Hathorn Funeral Home for Vincent Howard Hunt, 54, of Foxworth, who died on Wednesday, Oct. 11, at his residence. Burial followed in Slocum Cemetery in Foxworth. Rev. Ryan Freeman and Rev. Dwight Pace officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14, at Hathorn Funeral Home.
He was a lifelong resident of Columbia. He loved NASCAR and especially Dale Earnhardt. He also enjoyed watching football and spending time outdoors. He always took every opportunity to brag on his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Howard Hunt. 
Survivors include his daughter, Jordyn Womble (Jack) of Columbia; son, Chance Hunt of Foxworth; mother, Jill Singley Slocum of Foxworth; father, Lonnie Slocum (Connie) of Foxworth; four brothers, Anthony Hunt (Brandy) of Hattiesburg and Latrell Slocum (Snow), Phillip Slocum (Diane) and Landy Slocum (Angela), all of Foxworth; three sisters, Amanda Terrell and Crissy Joyner (Mitch), both of Foxworth and Lori Johnson (Joseph) of Columbia; six grandchildren; and a special aunt, Ilene Pounds of Foxworth.
Pallbearers were Anthony Hunt, Eric Hunt, Mitch Joyner, Phillip Slocum, Latrell Slocum and Lonnie James Slocum. Honorary pallbearers were Lonnie Slocum, Buzz Smith and Jack Womble.
