Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2023, at Hathorn Funeral Home for William Ray Turnage, 89, of Carriere, who passed away on Saturday, Dec. 9, at his residence. Interment followed in Foxworth Cemetery. Rev. Tyler Chavis officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16, at Hathorn Funeral Home.
He was preceded in death by his spouse, Beachel Angelina Simmons Turnage; son, Shawn Kevin Turnage; father, Curtis Odell Turnage; mother, Frances Evelyn Thornton Turnage.
Survivors include his daughter, Cathy Disbrow of Carriere; five grandchildren, Brian Disbrow (Tasha), Adam Disbrow (Allison), Alexis Shipley (Kenny), Kacie Turnage and Jacob Turnage; brother, Reggie Turnage (Pam); five great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers were Glyn Simmons, James Simmons, David Turnage, Jeff DeLancey, Cody Smith, Jacob Turnage and Joey Turnage.
