Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017, at Enon Missionary Baptist Church for Brenda J. Kemp, 68, of Columbia, who died on Sunday, Oct. 22, at her residence. Interment followed at Enon Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Glynn Erwin, Bro. Richard Magee, Bro. Trent Tolar and Bro. Glen Kemp officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 23, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the services on Tuesday, Oct. 24, at Enon Missionary Baptist Church.
A native of New Orleans, she was a seamstress with Rutter Rex and a faithful member of Enon Missionary Baptist Church in Columbia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Frances Lowe.
She is survived by her husband, Oscar Kemp of Columbia; two sons, Richard Kemp (Azalie) of Sandy Hook and Christopher Kemp of Columbia; sister, Merry Lowe of Columbia; three brothers, Jimmy Lowe of Columbia, David Lowe of Louisiana and Richard Lowe (Edie) of Foxworth and two grandsons, Jackson Kemp and Richard Kemp.
Pallbearers were Craig Ramey, Joe Bullock, Ronnie Tolar, John Dale Bullock, Travis Boone and Tony Baughman.
