A graveside service was held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017, in the Woodlawn Cemetery for Mr. Edwin Mack Rowley, 78, of Columbia, who died on Saturday, Dec. 16, in Columbia. Bro. Phillip Duncan officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 19, at Hathorn Funeral Home.
As a lifelong resident of Marion County, Mr. Rowley was a member of North Columbia Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Geneva Rowley; wife of 45 years, Sheila Rowley; one brother, Gerald Rowley, and three sisters, Helen Simmons, Ilene Slocum and Hilda Holmes.
Survivors include his daughter, Daphne Lever (Jeff) of Madison; three brothers, Jim Rowley and Clyde Rowley, both of Columbia and Roy Rowley of Alabama; one sister, Lela Stringer of Columbia and a number of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to North Columbia Baptist Church.
