Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, at Topisaw Baptist Church for Mr. Henry Peavey, 78, of Jayess, who died on Tuesday, Dec. 19, at his residence. Burial will follow in Topeka Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of the services on Saturday, Jan. 6, at Topisaw Baptist Church.
He was born in Jayess on Dec. 31, 1938, to the late Javous Peavey and Nonnie Mae Peavey. He enjoyed being involved in the community. He was a Mason, 32-degree Shriner and Beta Club sponsor. He was an avid outdoorsman and he liked to collect antiques. He will be missed by all who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ruby Lee Thibodeaux.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Kathryn Peavey; sons, the Rev. Kenny W. Peavey (Wanda) and Toney E. Peavey (Patti); five grandchildren, Dr. Javous Peavey, Zachary Peavey, Jay Peavey, Ashley Boyd and Alexa Peavey; two great-grandchildren, Connor Peavey and Bennett Peavey; niece, Judy Beard, and nephew, Willie Holland.
