Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 20, 2017, in Hathorn Funeral Home Chapel for Jules Stringer, 79, of Foxworth, who died on Monday, July 17, in Hattiesburg. Interment followed in Lott Cemetery. Dr. Tim Parker and Bro. Ralph Sanford officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 19, at Hathorn Funeral Home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Nora Stringer; wife, Sandra Stringer; son, Percy Judson "Jud" Stringer; sister, Willie V. Stringer; three brothers, Travis Stringer, Albert Stringer and I. L. Stringer.
Survivors include his son, Eric Stringer (Lisa) of Sumrall; sister, Lesbia Stovall of Kokomo; grandson, Alex Stringer of Hattiesburg; step-grandson, Derek Belk of Hattiesburg.
Pallbearers were Austin Buckley, Shane Coleman, Cedrick Thompson, Ed Green, Keith Armstrong, Wade McKenzie, Gerald Williamson and Tony Baughman. Honorary pallbearers were the retirees of Pearl River Valley Electric.
Memorial donations may be made to New Hope Baptist Church Family Life Building in Foxworth.
