Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2017, at Colonial Funeral Home for Michael Wayne Johnson, 63, of Columbia, who died on Thursday, July 13, in Columbia. Interment followed in Foxworth Cemetery. Bro. Larry Evans officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday, July 14, at Colonial Funeral Home.
A native of Columbia, he was disabled and a member of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lavern and Donzie Johnson; two grandchildren, Kelcee Lowery and Jack Lowery Jr. and three brothers, Don Johnson, Tommy Johnson and Jimmy Ray Johnson.
Survivors include his two daughters, Mary McCloud (Dwayne) of Columbia and Angela Lowery (David) of Gulfport; two sons, Michael Sean Johnson of Stafford, Va., and Skylar Turnage of Kingsland, Ga.; his ex-wife of 35 years, Rhonda Smith; one brother, LeRoy Johnson (Maggie) of Foxworth; 12 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers were Dwayne McCloud, David Dixon, Jack Lowery, Zebdee Pittman, Mike Cooper and Terrell Johnson. Honorary pallbearers were La-Shonda Johnson and Johnny Bates.
