Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017, at Improve Baptist Church for Lillie Morris Smith, 89, of the Improve community, who died on Monday, Dec. 11, in Hattiesburg. Burial followed in Improve Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Darel Daniels and the Rev. Johnathan McLemore officiates at the services. Visitation was held from 9 a.m. until the time of the services on Wednesday, Dec. 13, at Improve Baptist Church.
A native of Columbia, she was a homemaker and member of Improve Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Charles Smith; granddaughter, Kassie Keen; parents, Cassie and Matilda Pearson Morris, and brothers, Buck Morris, Dan Morris and George Morris.
Survivors include her two daughters, Susan Magee of Bogalusa, La. and Libbye Johnson (James) of Brandon; son, Everette Smith (Jo Ann) of Bogalusa, La.; sister, Eula Morris Watts of Improve; four granddaughters, Jodi, Jennifer, Lauren and Haley; nine great-grandsons; her special friend and caregiver, Catherine Patton, and her Improve Baptist Church family whom she loved dearly.
