Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019, in Colonial Funeral Home Chapel for Jimmie Noble Dunaway, 84, of Columbia, who died on Saturday, Oct. 12 in Mandeville, La., after battling Alzheimer’s. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery. Father Tommy Conway officiated at the services.

Visitation was held from 10 a.m. until the time of the services on Saturday, Oct. 19 at Colonial Funeral Home.

As a longtime resident of Columbia, she worked with Polk Construction Corporation for 25 years and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She was devoted to her family and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother whose home was always open for family and friends to gather.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ben Dunaway, and three sisters.

Survivors include her two daughters, Angelia Bourgeois and Noel Noble Matthews; two sons-in-law, C.J. Bourgeois and Joseph Matthews; five grandchildren, Courtney, Michael, Kevin, Kai and Muirenn, and four great-grandchildren, Landon, Ashton, Charlie and Eli.

Pallbearers were C. J. Bourgeois, LTC Joseph Matthews, Ralph Franks, Michael Bourgeois, Kevin Bourgeois and Landon Hammond.
